 Ideal candidates for our Entry-Level Financial Representative Program include:

  • College Graduates with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and desire to succeed financially. Our best candidates also possess exceptional communication skills and are active on campus and in the community. Many of our successful Financial Representatives have studied business, played competitive sports, and have the resiliency and persistence necessary to handle a career as an entrepreneur. Please note that we do not hire by major - so we welcome all interested candidates to apply! Our selection process is designed to identify suitable personality characteristics for success in financial services.

We are currently interviewing upcoming and recent college graduates to fill positions on our team. We recommend students considering our career opportunity prior to graduation interview as soon as possible - many of our suitable candidates part-time intern with us throughout their final semesters to give more time in preparing for a new career.

  • Career Changers are individuals who can be identified by their successful career experiences either inside or outside of the field of financial services. They are self-motivated, well-disciplined, and financially responsible individuals who are not happy with the progress of their current career. These problems often arise from an inability to professionally develop and make money they know they deserve due to factors outside their control.  They are likely seeking the support and flexibility they need to achieve their personal and financial goals.

Successful Career Changers often times have backgrounds that fall into or around the following categories: real estate, banking, and /or    corporate professionals, wholesale representatives, entrepreneurs, sales and account representatives, teachers, athletes, coaches, marketing, communications, and public relations.

Our Financial Representative are expected to grow professionally, develop value-based and trusting relationships, use a unique process-driven sales system, develop new clients on a referral basis, provide financial recommendations to clients, act as an advocate for clients, display an entrepreneurial spirit, cultivate self-discipline, and most importantly, continue on an existing pattern of success.

Selected candidates will be trained by means of our proprietary Training Platform, designed specifically to help recent college graduates and career changers achieve explosive growth as part of our high performance team at International Planning Alliance.

Some of the responsibilities of a Financial Representative include:

  • Prospecting and Networking
  • Meeting with Clients
  • Promoting Yourself and the Business
  • Scheduling Appointments
  • Gaining Referrals from Existing Clients
  • Product and Systems Training.

Our proprietary Training Platform, designed by the committed Agency Growth & Development team at IPA, will give you the tools to develop the important skills you will need to start in our rewarding and exciting career opportunity as a Financial Representative. During a course of your training, you will work with clients under the close supervision of a Mentor, so you will gain real life experience from the very first client and can be assured your client is getting the best service possible from a trained and experienced Financial Professional. You will form value-based relationships through the unique process-driven sales system, eventually building a long term and highly sustainable practices. Our Entry Level Financial Representative career also includes marketing and business plan training that allows you to develop clients on a referral basis within a defined market niche.

Our career carries an excellent benefit package that includes not only a basic compensation-based salary but also a supplemental compensation-commission. Basic and persistency renewals are given to our Financial Representatives as well as comprehensive benefits including a defined benefit, 401 K program, renewal income, medical benefits, dental and vision plans, and a wealth accumulation plan as well as other incentive rewards – including reward travel!

BENEFITS

As a Guardian Financial Representative, you are eligible for the following optional benefits:

  • Medical coverage available at a reasonable cost, deducted from your salary on a pre-tax basis, plus a 100% cost sharing program of medical and dental benefits for all agents meeting certain production requirements
  • Short-Term Disability based on your length of service (from 60% to 100% of your salary) at no cost to you
  • Long-Term Disability for representatives under contract for at least one year
  • Dental Benefits for representatives under contract for at least two years, at a reasonable cost deducted from your salary on a pre-tax basis. These benefits include preventative care as well as other major services
  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment for those representatives participating in a Guardian health plan, with coverage equal to your Guardian group life insurance up to $50,000
  • Flexible Spending Account to allow tax-free payment of certain IRS eligible expenses, effective January 1 following your date of contract
  • Cooperative Investment Plan, a retirement savings plan with pre-tax [401(k)] and aftertax [401(a)] contribution alternatives that provide tax-deferred cash accumulations for your retirement. Guardian also contributes an annual match on your behalf
  • Non-Contributory Pension Plan in addition to the participatory Cooperative Investment Plan, at no cost to you and with a fast vesting schedule, after only five years of qualified service
  • Wealth Accumulation Plan (WAP), Guardian's non-qualified supplemental retirement plan for our high-producing career agents, offers the potential for millions of dollars in appreciation for an outstanding career, above and beyond your pension, 401(k), post retirement renewals and lifetime service fees
  • Vision Coverage, this is an annual plan for representatives
  • Group Long-Term Care, a plan designed specifically to cover the costs associated with extended long-term care services for people who are unable to care for themselves. These services include assistance in the home with day-to-day activities, as well as services in a community-based setting such as adult day care, an assisted living facility or a nursing home
  • Life Insurance coverage for representatives is available from the first day of the representative's contract with Guardian
